“Their friends are doing it, and they don't want to feel left out, or not cool.”
This is quoted from a recreational drug article that provides the information about the reasons and the effects of these drugs. This relates to our film as we have a specific scene in our product where two of characters put pressure on an individual character to take the mystery pills along with them. Due to the peer pressure the character made it seem as if she took so that she doesn’t “feel left out”
We also researched articles that informed what medical drugs caused memory loss as side effects. A few of the drugs were sleeping pills, they’re notoriously known for causing a side effect of memory loss. There are also statin drugs, which lower cholesterol. However the drug also now listed memory loss as a side effect.
After researching several drug related articles we came across an article about a woman who took drugs to get rid of a tic on her eyelid. She decided to go to her GP and she was given a prescription of pills that would get rid of her tic. Although the tic had disappeared, the pills caused side effects to the woman. A few of the side effects were memory loss as well as beginning to suffer from intense seizure. We decided that we could easily compare it to our film, as our characters suffered from a similar side effect of memory loss from the ‘mystery’ pills they took.
